5 Secrets on How To Grow Long and Healthy Hair

5 Steps towards Healthy Growing Hair

Step One: Maintain a healthy diet!

You’ve heard it said many times, you are what you eat, and what you eat plays a role in how you feel. In many ways what you eat also impacts your hair quality and growth.

A balanced diet will do much more for your hair than anything else you do to improve it.

One key component is protein. Protein makes up about 80 percent of our hair strand, so it, along with vitamins, minerals and nutrients plays a huge role in the development of hair.

Choosing a healthy diet that includes these components is the first step towards healthy hair!

Step Two: Proper Cleansing

When it comes to shampooing, I’ve heard many different topics on how shampooing too little or too much can be damaging to our hair. Well it’s not necessarily about how often we do it it’s about doing so the correct way.

Choose a shampoo that is free of sulfates, parabens and harsh chemicals that does not dry out your hair. Shampoo in warm water to open the hair cuticle and wash away any surface debris from the scalp. Focus more on the scalp than the strand or ends. Do not rinse and repeat the process over and over again, since doing so will dry out the hair strands.

Never skip conditioning! Choose the conditioner that goes with the shampoo and is designed to put back into the hair anything that was stripped away during the shampoo (nutrients and moisture). Condition the hair generously and do focus also on the strands and ends. Be sure to rinse in cool water to close the cuticle and lock in any moisture.

Know your hair! That determines what shampoo system to choose and how often to do so.

Step Three: Massage oil for blood circulation!

Scalp massages reduces stress that causes hair loss, massaging the scalp also boosts blood circulation to the hair follicles and aid in delivering more nutrients. Using a scalp massage oil like Peppermint Aloe Vera and Infused Growth Serum is an added plus, due to its compound growth properties and follicle stimulation!

Step Four: Length Retention

While it is a myth that trimming your ends will make your hair grow, doing so will help to keep the length that you have. Growing hair means nothing if we aren’t doing things to retain that length. Dry, damaged ends can split and travel high up the strand, causing hair to break. Not only is it important to maintain hair length, but it also gives the hair a healthier appearance.

To prevent ends from breaking and drying out quickly, take preventative steps such as; keeping them moisturized or tucked away and be sure to sleep with a satin or silk pillowcase and hair scarf. Also try to invest in a soft microfiber hair towel. Drying hair with a cotton or terry cloth towel, will literally dry out your hair and eventually lead to breakage.

Step Five: Repeat! Create a regimen

Healthy and growing hair isn\’t gained overnight. Create a routine hair regimen using these 5 steps and repeat it regularly, your hair will love you for it and you’ll know it!

While these steps are crucial for growing healthy hair it is important to know your hair and what works for your hair type. Consider this when choosing a shampoo system and determining how often to trim your ends.
